Chen Yiwang’s Research Team of our University Successively Publishing Research Achievements in Top-grade Chemical Journals

Recently, Professor Chen Yiwang and Professor Shen Lie’s research team of our College of Chemistry successively published important research achievements in world top-grade journals like Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Journal of America Chemistry Society, and etc., achieving the breakthrough of our University publishing scientific research achievements in top-grade chemical journals.

Professor Chen Yiwang and Professor Shen Lie’s research team for the first time truly independently completed the thesis publishing in top-grade chemical journal of Angewandte Chemie International Edition with thesis title of “Dye-incorporated Polynaphthalenediimide Acceptor for Additive-free High-performance All-polymer Solar Cells”, whose impact factor of 11.994. The team made use of simple form of random copolymerization to bring the third component of dye molecule into the acceptor material, accurately regulating molecular aggregation and light absorption coefficient of polymer solar cell active layer, realizing the parameters of polymer solar cell components, including remarkable increase in open-circuit voltage, short-circuit current and fill factor. The first author of the thesis published is Chen Dong, a postgraduate student of our University, Professor Chen Yiwang and Professor Shen Lie are correspondence authors, and Institute of Chemistry of Chinese Academy of Sciences is the cooperation unit.

The research team also took Nanchang University as correspondence author and published a thesis in top-grade chemical journal -- Journal of America Chemistry Society, having realized the breakthrough of our University for the first time publishing a thesis in the journal. The work was completed under the cooperation with University of Washington, and Liao Xunfan, a doctor student of our University, is the co-first author. The work, by virtue of chelate condensed nucleus rich electron nuclear structure, has greatly expanded the optical responding range of non-fullerene acceptor, and accurately regulated the level structure of acceptor and intramolecular charge transfer as well as intermolecular π-π stacking behavior. The research team put forward random copolymerization to accurately bring in unit three, able to practically and effectively regulate the aggregation behavior, level structure and absorption coefficient of the donor and acceptor of organic polymer solar cell, having offered a new research thought for fully and effectively improving the working parameters of organic polymer solar cell. Relevant work will be successively published top-grade material and chemical journal – Nano Energy recently.
