Crossing Hills and Streams and Hand in Hand NCU Supports Overseas Partnership Institutions of Confucius Institutes to Fight COVID-19

After the outbreak of COVID-19 in the countries where the NCU Confucius Institutes are located, NCU was very concerned about the teachers and student volunteers working in the Confucius Institutes abroad, established a communication mechanism at the first time to keep abreast of the work and life of them, and strove to provide them with all the help they need. According to the demand, NCU sent 2,000 disposable medical masks to overseas Confucius Institutes for the epidemic prevention of teachers and students in Confucius Institutes.

At the request of Professor Miguel Angel Collado Yurita, President of Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha in Spain, NCU decided after discussion to donate 12,000 disposable medical masks and 5,000 pairs of disposable medical rubber gloves to UCLM.A friend in need is a friend indeed. When the epidemic was serious in our country, the teachers and students of our overseas partner institutions with Confucius Institutes encouraged us with their warm remarks: “Come on! Wuhan! Come on! China!” Today, we shall also pass on our kind concern to our friends abroad.

During the period of fighting against the epidemic, NCU also exchanged letters with the presidents of four foreign partner universities, namely the Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha in Spain, the University of Poitiers in France, the Udayana University in Indonesia, and the Hasanuddin University in Indonesia, expressing concerns and deepening the confidence of cooperation.
