4 NCUers Join the Chinese Government (Jiangxi ) Joint Working Team to Support the Epidemic Prevention and Control in Uzbekistan

Recently, the Joint Working Team from China to Uzbekistan sent by the Chinese government(Jiangxi) has left for Uzbekistan to assist in epidemic prevention and control of the country. ZHAN Yi’an, Deputy Chief Physician of Critical Care Medicine Department, and YANG Zhen, Chief Nurse of The First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University, Li Futai, Deputy Chief Physician of The Affiliated People’s Hospital of Nanchang University, and Fu Weijie, Postgraduate student of class 2018 from Faculty of Medicine of Nanchang University, who also served as the Deputy Chief Physician of Jiangxi Emergency and Infectious Disease Prevention Institute for Disease Control and Prevention are four of the working team members and have taken part in the overseas assistance along with the rest of the team.

The Joint Working Team from China to Uzbekistan sent by the Chinese government(Jiangxi) consists of 15 members, including staff from Health Committee of Jiangxi Province, the Office of Foreign Affairs of Jiangxi Province, the Office of Overseas Chinese Affairs of Jiangxi Province, and Jiangxi Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and 10 healthcare professionals selected and dispatched by The First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University, The Affiliated People’s Hospital of Nanchang University, The Affiliated Hospital of Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Jiangxi Center for Disease Control and Prevention are experts in fields such as Intensive Care Unit, Hospital Infection-Control Department, Disease Control and Prevention, Emergency department, Nursing Department and so on.This team takes Chinese traditional medicine experts as the main body and fully reflects the integration of Chinese traditional and Western medicine.


Under the command of the Chinese Embassy in Uzbekistan, the Joint Working Team will share the know-how and experience in fighting COVID-19 , hold training seminars in disease control and clinical treatment, provide “health kits” and technical guidance in epidemic prevention and control, distribute disease prevention materials, and offer traditional Chinese Medicine consultation services to the Chinese Embassy personnel in Uzbekistan, Chinese company staff, Chinese Nationals and ethnic Chinese. The working team will actively explore the role of traditional Chinese Medicine in responding to major public health events, help Uzbekistan to fight against the epidemic, and make positive efforts in writing the new chapter of jointly building a health Silk Road by China and Uzbekistan.
