Nanchang University co-hosts the 2020 Academic Forum on China's Ecological Civilization and Sustainable Development

From November 12 to 15, the 2020 Academic Forum on China‘s Ecological Civilization and Sustainable Development was held in Nanchang. Zhou Chuangbing, President of Nanchang University, Fu Bojie, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Director of Expert Committee of China Association for Administrative Division and Regional Development Promotion, Michael Meadows,Academician of Royal Society of South Africa and Chairman of International Geographical Union, and Geng Jianshan, Executive Deputy Secretary of China Association for Administrative Division and Regional Development Promotion attended the opening ceremony and gave speeches. Vice President Liu Yaobin presided over the opening ceremony.


This year, the forum was co-hosted by China Association for Administrative Division and Regional Development Promotion and Nanchang University, undertaken by Jiangxi Ecological Civilization Research Institute, and was held in the form of a combination of "on site + online video". During the forum, participating experts and scholars gave 7 academic reports on ecological civilization construction methods, regional sustainable development, and green and quality development model, while conducting in-depth exchanges and discussions on the theme of "promoting ecological civilization construction and advancing regional sustainable development".


The aim of the forum is to implement Xi Jinping’s thoughts on ecological civilization, promote the construction of National Ecological Civilization Pilot Zone and regional sustainable development, and enhance collaborative innovation and academic exchanges between regions. Nearly 350 experts and scholars from more than 50 universities including Tsinghua University, Beijing Normal University and Nanchang University participated in the forum.
