Delegation from County Wexford, Ireland Visits The School Attached to Nanchang University

On February 27, a delegation includingJohn Fleming, Chairman of Wexford County Council, Ireland, Carolyne Godkin, Director of Services, Wexford County Council, Breege Cosgrave, Head of Enterprise and Economic Development,Wexford County Counciland Ms. Xiaohong Wei, Wexford Jiangxi Relationship Secretary, visited the School Attached to Nanchang University Honggutan Branch for inspection and exchanges.

The delegation first visited the campus environment and teaching facilities of the School Attached to Nanchang University Honggutan Branch, gained an in-depth understanding of the school's educational philosophy, and entered aprimary school classroom to have cordial and friendly interactions with the children. Later, the delegation watched the students' wonderful music, calligraphy, paper-cutting, and dance performances, and expressed their admiration for the children's artistic talents. Under the guidance of aChinese teacher, Mr. John Fleming, Chairman of Wexford County Council, wrote a Chinese character Fu (happiness) to express his blessing for the friendly relations between the two peoples.

At the subsequent symposium, the two parties had in-depth exchanges and discussions on cooperation in education. The Middle School Attached to Nanchang University introduced to the delegation the school's characteristics, international cooperation situation and practices, and expressed the hope to form sister school relationshipwith middle schools in Wexford County to carry out student exchange visits and expand students’international horizons. At the same time, they also welcomed middle school students from County Wexford to come to Nanchang for short-term study, experience Chinese culture and enhance their understanding of China. Mr. John Fleming said that they appreciated the characteristics and advantages of Chinese education and hoped to carry out student exchange visits and educational cooperation in the form of winter or summer camps with the Middle School Attached to Nanchang University in the future to jointly promote the development of international education in Nanchang and Wexford County.
