Recently, “global semiconductor lighting yearly news prize (2016-2017)” organized and elected by ISA was announced, our Jiang Fengyi team “high-photosynthetic efficiency yellow light LED manufacturing technology” achieving great breakthrough, with photovoltaic conversion power efficiency of 21-30%, luminous efficiency of 130-180lm/W was selected as yearly news event, and was awarded the prize in ISA 2017 members conference on November 1.
Semiconductor lighting technology innovation team lead by Professor Jiang Fengyi, creatively developed semiconductor lighting the third technical route- silicon substrate gallium nitride base LED technical route, and was awarded the first prize of 2015 China national technology invention prize. This team realized four cooperative innovation, that is industry-university-research cooperative innovation, upper-middle-lower reaches cooperative innovation, basic research and technology development cooperative innovation and equipment and technique cooperative innovation, and achieved great breakthrough in high photosynthetic efficiency yellow light LED R&D after awarding. The great improvement of yellow light LED light efficiency has great application prospects for markets such as show and display, general lighting and special lighting, and so on, especially laid an important basis for development of LED lighting source without fluorescent powder, which can significantly broadens the application scope of semiconductor lighting technology, is benefit for industrial sustainable development. The response speed of LED yellow light is much greater than that of yellow light transformed from fluorescent power, which has a broad prospect in lighting and communication dual sources application.
Global semiconductor lighting yearly news prize faces to the world for collection, and independently appraised and selected by the judging panel consisting of international famous authority experts. This prize selects symbolic events, inventions, R&D, results, research papers, products, technical breakthrough, activities that have great effect and meaning on global semiconductor lighting, to promote sustainable development of semiconductor lighting industry, stimulate theory research, technical innovation and product research and development of semiconductor lighting industry, improve the influence and visibility of semiconductor lighting industry, make more people understand this industry, this technique and do more contributions. Only two news were selected this time.
