My Journey in Translational Medicine
Lecturer:Xiao Ruiping
Professor Xiao Ruiping is currently a Chair Professor of Peking University. She was the founding director of the Institute of Molecular Medicine of Peking University, and is now the Dean of the College of Future Technology, Peking University. She received her Master's degree in Medicine from Tongji Medical University in 1987, and her Ph.D. in Physiology from the University of Maryland in 1995. In 2003, she was appointed as a Senior Investigator at the U.S. National Institutes of Health. In March 2010, she resigned from her U.S. position and began working full-time at Peking University. She has been engaged in the basic and translational research on cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.
Since 2000, Professor Xiao has served as a member of the Advisory Board for the Mid-Atlantic Region of the American Heart Association. From 2002 to 2021, she was a board member of the International Society for Heart Research (ISHR), and in 2004, she was elected as a member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation (ASCI). Since 2014, she has been an Associate Editor of The New England Journal of Medicine, one of the world's leading medical journals.
