Chen Yeguang


Profile

Chen Yeguang, male, was born in 1964 in Le’an, Jiangxi Province. He is a Ph.D., professor, doctoral supervisor, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, academician of the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World and member of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. He is currently the President of Chinese Society for Cell Biology, Deputy Director of the Teaching and Guidance Committee of Higher Education School of the Ministry of Education for Biology, and one of the leaders of the 8th Biology/Bioengineering Disciplinary Review Group. Meanwhile, he works as Chairman of the Expert Group on Strategic Research for the Medium and Long-Term Development Plan of Biology 2021-2035 of Committee of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and Chairman of the Expert Group on a Major Research Program Exploring Organelle Interactomes Network and Its Function of committee of the National Natural Science Foundation. He is the Chairman of the 14th Science and Technology Committee of the Central Committee of the Jiu San Society, the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal Cell Regeneration, and the editorial board member of the Journals Open Biol, Intl J Biochem Cell Biol, Cell Research, Cell Discovery, Cancer Sciences, and Science China: Life Sciences.

He is mainly engaged in research on the mechanism of self-renewal and differentiation of adult stem cells and the mechanism of development of related diseases. He is the Distinguished Professor of Chang Jiang Scholars Program launched by the Ministry of Education, the awardee of National Natural Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the Li Foundation Heritage Prize for Excellence in Achievements, the China Youth Science and Technology Award, the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress, and the National Outstanding Science and Technology Worker.
