Deng Xiaohua

Profile

Deng Xiaohua, male, a CPC member, was born in June 1963 in Xiantao, Hubei Province. He is a Doctor of Science, Professor, and Doctoral supervisor. He is the Distinguished Professor of Chang Jiang Scholars Program, the awardee of National Natural Science Funds for Distinguished Young Scholars. He was selected as one of Cross- Century Academic Leading Figures in Hubei Province. He has received the funding of Outstanding Teachers Plan from the Ministry of Education of the PRC, the European Space Science Committee (ESOC) Cluster Award for Outstanding Contribution to Geospatial Exploration, the title of New Talents in Science and Technology in Wuhan City and the Outstanding Postdoctoral Award in Hubei Province. He is currently the Vice Chairman of Sub-Committee of the Solar System, Galaxy and Magnetosphere Plasma Physics in the Committee on Space Research (COSAPR), and the Chairman of Solar, Interplanetary, Magnetospheric, Ionospheric and Middle and Upper Atmosphere and Space Weather in the Asia Oceania Geosciences Society (AOGS). He is the editor of Chinese Journal of Geophysics and China University Academic Abstracts, and a member of the Expert Review Panel of the Geophysics Division of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NNSFC) Committee. He has led major programs of NNSFC, and major programs of Scientific and Technological Research of the Ministry of Education, and the China-Australia International Cooperation Program. Meanwhile, he has published papers on international famous journals, like Nature, Journal of Geophysical Research, Geophysical Research Letters, Physics of Plasma, Journal of Plasma Physics.
