Professor Wang Li of School of Sciences was awarded the Title of "Excellent Visiting Scholar of Western Light"

In December 2016, Professor Wang Li was awarded the title of "Excellent Visiting Scholar of Western Light" by the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It is reported that there are a total of 14 "Excellent Visiting Scholar of Western Light" nationwide, Professor Wang Li Jiangxi Province is the only scholar of Jiangxi Province. "Excellent Visiting Scholar of Western Light" is a western talents training program jointly implemented by the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the purpose is to give full play to the advantages of relevant departments of central and state organs, the advantages of colleges and universities and scientific research institutions of eastern region to cultivate young talents for western region.

In 2011, professor Wang Li researched and studied in National Nano Center for a year after selected by the “Excellent Visiting Scholar of Western Light”. In recent years, through advanced study and training, professor Wang Li has been the academic and technical leader of molecular device, two-dimensional materials and devices and other related areas, presided over and completed a number of national issues, published 18 SCI papers in the ACS Nano, Advanced Functional Material, Small and other world-class magazines, and the one published in ACS Nano (impact factor 12.033) is the first paper that Jiangxi Province works as the first unit, the research result published in the Materials Research Express was selected as the research hightlight of this publiction’s founding anniversary. His series of results of representative research “Room Temperature Single Molecular Devices Based on Molecular Orientation Control” and “Preparation of Graphene Monocrystals” were included in the world-class magazines such as ACS Nano, Scientific Reports, Applied Physics Letters and received extensive attention. At the same time, professor Wang Li focuses on the results applied to practice, has applied for five relevant invention patents and two of them were approved, resulting in good economic and social effects. Due to outstanding performance, he was chosen as one of the new century outstanding talents of Ministry of Education, young and middle-aged academic leaders of Jiangxi Provincial colleges and universities and outstanding doctoral thesis instructors of Jiangxi Province, won the Jiangxi Provincial May 4th Youth Medal, the second prize of national teaching achievement award and other honors.
