NCU Winning Good Prize in National Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan University Students’ Chinese Cultural Knowledge Competition

Recently, the final results of 2020 National Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan University Students’ Chinese Cultural Knowledge Competition came out, and the representative team of NCU won the national third prize for the reading work of My Ancestors Were Emperors Yan and Huang.

This competition was hosted by Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs of Ministry of Education, and 117 higher institutions submitted 637 works in total. After online voting and offline judges’ professional scoring, 20 teams entered the final. The final adopted the form of online and offline combination. 20 higher institutions including Nanchang University, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Renmin University of China, Wuhan University, and etc. connected to the main venue in Fudan University, presenting diversified and wonderful final videos by means of combining the epidemic background, or focusing on classic poems or integrating university history and academic atmosphere. At last, one first prize, two second prizes and four third prizes were selected.

This is the first time for our students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan attending national competition. Lin Sicong, a Grade 2018 student from Hong Kong, Wang Yidan, a Grade 2018 student of overseas Chinese and Wang Yuzhen, a Grade 2019 student from Hong Kong attractively performed the adapted reading work titled My Ancestors Were Emperors Yan and Huang, expressing the responsibility and undertaking of the youths in the new era for learning history, remembering history and advocating Chinese culture. The wonderful on-site performance and elaborately produced video performance won the praise of judges.
