The Open of Gu Jiguang Humanities Higher Research Institute of Nanchang University

       In the morning of December 4, the opening ceremony of Gu Jiguang Humanities Higher Research Institute of Nanchang University was held at the second floor function hall of the office building, Chen Chunsheng, secretary of the party committee of Zhongshan University, director of Academic Board of Gu Jiguang Humanities Higher Research Institute and our President Zhou Chuangbing unveiled the nameplate of the research institute. The ceremony was presided by Huang Xijia, head of Institute of Jiangxi Development Studies of our university.

Chen Chunsheng expressed his congratulation to the establishment of Gu Jiguang Humanities Higher Research Institute of Nanchang University, and he pointed out that the establishment of the research institute will play a positive role in creating humanities of Nanchang University into a humanities academic highland that is first-rate in Jiangxi, famous in China and distinctive in world.

Zhou Chuangbing expressed thanks to the coming of participating guests, and he said, Humanities Higher Research Institute is the first school-level comprehensive research institute of humanities and society discipline of our university. The reason of establishing this institute and naming it Gu Jiguang is that inheriting Mr. Gu Jiguang’s humanistic spirit and learning spirit.

The establishment of Gu Jiguang Humanities Higher Research Institute aims to promote the humanities research atmosphere of Nanchang University, cultivate high-end talents with broad academic vision, and make scholars with different cultures and discipline backgrounds develop interdisplinary communication by providing excellent academic research environment for scholars. It devotes to cultivate several new characteristic research domains on the basis of the original characteristic research domains of Nanchang University including research of successors of Zhu Xi and research of Hakka and Gan dialects, and realizes the dislocation development of humanities of Nanchang University and other institutions of higher learning.
