Vice President Li Baoming Invited to Attend the First China-South Asia and Southeast Asia Presidents Forum

From November 25th to 27th, on behalf of our university, vice president Li Baoming was invited to attend the first China-South Asia and Southeast Asia Presidents Forum. This forum was held in Kunming, presidents and delegators from 20 foreign institutions of higher learning from 10 countries and 30 domestic institutions of higher learning including Fudan University, Nankai University, Yunnan University attended this forum.

   This forum takes “share education, innovate development” as theme, aims to promote regional institutions of higher learning to share educational resources, develop all-round, multi-level communication and cooperation, and coordinated development. Participants actively discussed the possibility and the development path to construct China-South Asia and Southeast Asia Universities Union, and proposed to co-construct China-South Asia and Southeast Asia Universities Union, set up regional higher education communication and cooperation platform, accelerated cooperation and research of priority development domains, promoted cooperation level between China and south Asia and southeast Asia universities, constructed regional higher education community. During this forum, participants carried out group discussion on establishing China-South Asia and Southeast Asia Universities Union.

   Li Baoming addressed in this forum on behalf of our university. He introduced university-related conditions, and expressed that Nanchang University agrees on the articles of association of South Asia and Southeast Asia Universities Union and is willing to join into this Union. Li Baoming gave sincere invitation to participants, welcomes participating foreign institutions of higher learning to cooperate with our university in scientific research, cultural communication, teachers’ exchange visits and students’ exchange. After the forum, representative of our university and leaders from institutions of higher learning of Thailand, Sri Lanka, India, and Maldives developed deep negotiation and communication.
