Training Program “Seminar on Chinese Language and Culture for Developing Countries” Successfully Kicks off at Nanchang University

On May 15th, the 2023 foreign aid training program “Seminar on Chinese Language and Culture for Developing Countries commissioned by the Ministry of Commerce officially kicked off at the International Academic Exchange Center of Nanchang University. Officials from the Department of Commerce of Jiangxi Province and Deng Xiaohua, vice principal of Nanchang University, appeared together at the opening ceremony and each delivered speeches. UŞŞAKLI EKiN, Secretary General of the Turkey-China Friendship Association, spoke on behalf of students participating in the training.

This seminar focused on providing Chinese Language and Culture Training to students from all over the world. With various training activities rich in content and diverse in form, such as lectures on Chinese language and culture courses, cultural experiences and field trips, the seminar tries to share the beauty of Chinese language and culture with participants. It is dedicated to enhancing mutual understanding and strengthening cultural communication, connection and cooperation between China and developing countries. Furthermore, it will facilitate the participating countries to carry out extensive and in-depth cooperation in economic, social and cultural fields, and contribute to the Belt and Road Initiative. It will also impact economic and trade cooperation with developing countries, so as to jointly build a community with a shared future for mankind.

It is understood that Nanchang University has made significant strides in implementing the national foreign aid policy. There has been strong support and assistance from senior departments such as the Ministry of Commerce, the Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee, the Jiangxi Provincial Government, the Department of Commerce of Jiangxi, the Department of Education and the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office. With this backing, Nanchang University has successfully held 20 training programs, thereby enabling over 540 students to receive training since 2005. In this way, it has given a boost to mutual exchanges between China and other countries, effectively expanding our circle of international friends.

Responsible personnel from the Department of International Affairs and International Education College attended the event along with 19 government officials, managers and language teachers of local educational institutions across four continents. They come from nine different countries including Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Bahamas, Venezuela, Jamaica, Uzbekistan, and Uganda.
