NCU Jointly Organize the 3rd National Ecological Civilization Pilot Zone Construction (Jiangxi) Forum

On September 17, the 3rd National Ecological Civilization Pilot Zone Construction (Jiangxi) Forum jointly organized by the Jiangxi  Development and Reform Commission, the People's Government of Fuzhou City, and Nanchang University was held in Fuzhou, aiming to explore the ideas and strategies of opening up the channels for the transformation of the "Two Mountains" Theory and realizing the value of ecological products.

Xiao Yi, vice chairman of the Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and secretary of the Fuzhou Municipal Committee, Zhou Chuangbing, president of Nanchang University, and Liu Bing, member of the Jiangxi Development and Reform Commission and specialist deputy director of the Jiangxi Ecological Civilization Office, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Ouyang Zhiyun, Director of the Ecological Environment Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Sun Zhanxue, President of East China University of Technology, Liu Yaobin, Vice President of Nanchang University, Tan Xiaoping, Executive Vice Mayor of Fuzhou City, Shuai Geliu, vice chairman of the Fuzhou Municipal Political Consultative Conference and director of the Fuzhou Development and Reform Commission, attended the meeting. And the mayor of Fuzhou Zhang Hongxing presided over the opening ceremony.

At the opening ceremony, Xiao Yi, Ouyang Zhiyun, Zhou Chuangbing and Sun Zhanxue unveiled the plaque of Jiangxi Ecological Products Research Institute. Integrating the innovative resource advantages of Nanchang University, the People's Government of Fuzhou City, the Ecological Environment Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the East China University of Technology in the fields of talents, scientific research, intelligence and platforms, the institute will accelerate the transformation of ecological advantages into economic advantages and enhance comprehensive regional competitiveness to promote the high-quality development of Fuzhou and the construction of "Beautiful Fuzhou".

At the forum, Zhang Xinsheng, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Union for Conservation of Nature, gave an online report via audio; Ouyang Zhiyun, Cai Xinghua, President of Bank of China Jiangxi Branch , Shuai Geliu, Professor Fu Chun and Zheng Bofu from our university made theme reports respectively on site. Participants also conducted exchanges and discussions around the theme of the forum.

The National Ecological Civilization Pilot Zone Construction (Jiangxi) Forum is a brand activity of our university’s Jiangxi Ecological Civilization Research Institute. It aims to build a bridge connecting scientific and technological research development services with the social needs around the implementation of major decisions of the Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government. By carrying out the research and application of ecological civilization and green development theory, technology, system and mechanism, the Forum enhances the influence of Jiangxi's ecological civilization and green development theory research and practical exploration in the country.
