Teng Yongqian welcomed the delegation from ICL and introduced the development history and academic achievements of NCU. He expressed his high expectations for the first cooperation between two universities in education and research. Professor Peter Nixon, the chair of the Department of Biochemistry, and Professor Andrea Fantuzzi, the research fellow form the Department of Life Science, introduced ICL’s scientific prowess and the purpose of this visit. Both sides agreed that it is of great importance for experts in related fields from two universities to develop a close cooperation in environment and low-carbon biotechnology, and integrate the study on algae photosynthesis with low-carbon and environment-friendly technologies. This will not only provide more opportunities for teachers and students to carry out academic exchanges and research collaborations, but also inject fresh vitality to the goal of carbon emission reduction and sustainable development for two countries and the rest of the world.
