Overseas “Temple Fairs” in Full Swing -- The excellent performance of NCU Confucius Institute at the University of Castilla La Mancha in Spain Winning the Media Coverage on CCTV

At the turn of winter and spring, the Chinese Embassy in Spain, Madrid Autonomous Region and Municipal Government of Madrid hosted “Happy Spring Festival, Chinese Temple Fair” celebrations. At the opening ceremony of the celebration, NCU Confucius Institute at University of Castilla La Mancha performed a Chinese classical song and dance show Nv’er Qing, bringing the joy of Chinese Spring festival to the local people and overseas Chinese. The performance has been reported by well-known overseas and domestic media, including China Central Television, China Global Television Network and Spanish media El Debate.

As the only Confucius Institute invited to perform at the opening ceremony, NCU Confucius Institute at University of Castilla La Mancha attached great importance to the event. In order to present an excellent performance, the Confucius Institute teachers guided the ten Spanish students of the dance class to practice day and night, and made great efforts to perfect the performance from movement to expression. At the ceremony, their wonderful performance on the stage not only won the praise from Wu Haitao (Chinese Ambassador to Spain), but also won great acclaims from the audience and the media.

Li Guangjie, the student representative who participated in the performance, said in an interview: "We are very happy to perform at the opening ceremony of “Chinese temple fair” . My partners and I have worked hard to rehearse before we can stand on this stage. Everyone is very happy to get this performance opportunity."

In 2023, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Spain, NCU Confucius Institute at Castilla La Mancha University held a number of spring festival cultural activities in Madrid, Toledo and other cities in Spain, bringing the joy of Chinese spring festival and extending best wishes to the local people and overseas Chinese. Ever since its establishment, NCU Confucius Institute at Castilla La Mancha University has always insisted on strengthening the connotation construction of the Confucius Institute, constantly improving the quality of Chinese teaching, and improving the understanding of Chinese language and culture among the local people, which has won a good social reputation in the local area.
