NCU Student Sun Tiantian Won a Silver Medal in the Chinese College Students’ Taekwondo Championship

On July 24, the Chinese College Students’ Taekwondo Championship 2021 was in full swing at Yancheng Teachers University. Sun Tiantian, a student majoring in Sports Training in Grade 2020 of NCU, participated in the Women’s Individual Poomsae Dan Event of Group III (High-level Group) and won a silver medal with only 0.03 points lower than her counterpart.

Previously, in the “Meeting at Happy Chengdu”–Chinese College Students’ Taekwondo Championship 2021 (Professional Competition Group), the NCU taekwondo team achieved excellent results, winning 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal and 3 bronze medals and ranking third in terms of the women’s team total. The team of NCU won the title of Team of Sportsmanship, and Mr. He Minghui was awarded the title of “Excellent Coach”.

Chinese College Students’ Taekwondo Championship 2021 is a concrete manifestation of China’s active development of sunshine sports and a centralized display of the development level and spirit of Chinese college students’ taekwondo. Chinese College Students’ Taekwondo Championship 2021 was organized by the Federation of University Sports of China, with more than 1100 athletes from 138 Chinese universities and colleges, including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Zhejiang University, Nanjing University, Nankai University, Xiamen University, etc., participating in the championship. The championship was divided into 3 major events, namely Competition, Poomsae and Taekwondo Dance, and consisted of 37 minor events, with a total of 41 gold medals awarded.
