Three NCUers Awarded “The Star of Self-improvement of Chinese College Students” Scholarship

Recently, the list of recipients for 2022 scholarship of “The Stars of Self-improvement of Chinese College Students” was released, with three students from Nanchang University, namely Liu Zhen, Zhang Junpeng, and Ao Minrui, being selected. Let's get to know them together!

Liu Zhen conducted field research on the rural revitalization at Putaogou Township, Xinjiang.

Upon entering Nanchang University, Liu Zhen actively joined student organizations under the guidance of the Communist Youth League of China (CYLC), and has participated in more than 40 practical activities. In 2022, Liu Zhen embarked on a month-long social practice journey: exploring the millennium-old porcelain city; studying the revolutionary history in Jiangxi and serving as a communicator of the red culture; travelling to the remote border areas of the motherland, contributing to the rural revitalization.

Zhang Junpeng reported on “What We Can Do for Freshmen”

From his first year at Nanchang University, Zhang Junpeng joined the student flag-guard team, responsible for the weekly flag-raising ceremony. As a flag bearer, he participated in some campus events, such as the Centennial Celebration of Nanchang University, the launch ceremony of the Youth Projects for Poverty Alleviation of the 7th China International College Students’ “Internet+” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. For two consecutive years, he volunteered as a senior student mentor, serving as a link between instructors and students. As the vice president of the Student Union in his college, he wholeheartedly served his peers and actively promoted communication between teachers and students. He helped organize lectures about first aid knowledge and labor education activities like Campus Labor Day.

Ao Minrui addressed to members of social practice team

During the summer practice, Ao Minrui organized team members to conduct research on “The Investigation of the Mobile Stall Economy in Various Popular Areas in Zhangshu City and Suggestions for its Standardization”. Their report won the second prize both in the Social Practice Research Competition for People from Zhangshu City and the Proposal Competition at a Mock Political Consultative Conference in Yichun City.

With tenacity, determination, and love for the country, these students face challenges head-on and continuously strive for self-improvement. Youth gain strength through trials and sharpen minds in struggles. The young NCUers will surge forward with vigor, living up to the era and their prime years!
