The second Sino-UK Biomedicine Seminar Held in London

The 2nd Sino-UK Biomedicine Seminar co-hosted by Nanchang University and Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) was held in London from April 12 to April 13. The Seminar was undertaken by School of Biologyand Chemistry of QMUL, and such four representatives of Nanchang University attended the Seminar and made academic reports as Professors Luo Shiwen, Luo Zhijun, Zeng Xuhui and Zhang Jin.


Vice President of QMUL Edmund Burke made an opening speech, highly affirmed the education cooperation between both parties, and hoped to strengthen the scientific research cooperation on the basis of existing cooperative school running of both parties. In the Seminar, 4 Chinese experts and 8 British experts made academic reports; speech competitions were held among undergraduate students of School of Biology and Chemistry of QMUL, and exchange students in the UK of NCU-QMUL cooperation projects; doctoral students’ academic wall newspaper exhibition and prize-giving for students’ speech competition were held. During the Seminar, the delegation of both parties also made full discussion on how to build Joint Research Center of Biomedicine and conduct high-level scientific research cooperation.


In order to deepen and expand cooperation, upgrade the cooperation from clinical medicine/biomedicine education to scientific research, and facilitate the cultivation of high-quality talents with high-level scientific research, NCU and QMUL decided to set up Biomedicine Seminar held annually, and undertaken by both parties by turns. The 2nd Sino-UK Biomedicine Seminar was held in NCU in April 2017.
