Recently, the summer camp for delegation from Pusat Bahasa at Hasanuddin University was held in NCU.63 students and faculty members from Pusat Bahasa at Hasanuddin University and the Universitas Udayana in Bali Island, which has cooperated with NCU in establishing the first Chinese Tourism Training Center of Indonesia, have participated in this summer camp of unprecedented scale. The summer camp will last from July 1st to July 14th.
On the morning of July 5th, the opening ceremony of summer camp was held at the Multi-function Hall of the International Academic Exchanges Center, and President Li Baoming presided over the ceremony. On behalf of the NCU, Mr. Li Baoming extended his warm welcome to all guests presented and his gratitude to all walks of life in Indonesia who offered great support to the development of Pusat Bahasa at Hasanuddin University. He also appealed to participants of the summer camp to support the development of Pusat Bahasa at Hasanuddin University and Chinese Tourism Training Center, pay close attention to NCU and China, and strive to make contribution to the Sino-India friendship when they back home.
Mr. JUNAEDI MUHIDONG, the deputy President of Pusat Bahasa at Hasanuddin University, Mr. IDA BAGUS WYASA, the deputy President of the Universitas Udayana in Bali Island and Mr. BURHANUDDIN ARAFAH ABDULLAH, Dean of the Pusat Bahasa at Hasanuddin University delivered speeches. They recalled the cooperation course with NCU and extended sincere gratitude to the Office of Chinese Language Council International and NCU for their considerable arrangement of this summer camp. They expressed their wishes to carry out full-fledged cooperation with NCU, promote Sino-India educational and personnel exchanges and enhance our friendship through the Pusat Bahasa and Chinese Tourism Training Center. The opening ceremony concluded with the Indonesian students’ performance of their traditional dance.
From July 1st to July 4th, the participants of the summer camp visited the Office of Chinese Language Council International and scenic sites, museums and higher educational institutes in Beijing. On the afternoon of July 5th, representatives from Hasanuddin University and the Universitas Udayana discussed on some specific cooperation programs with School of Humanities and School of Tourism of NCU. In the future, students from Indonesia are able to take systematic mandarin classes, experience traditional culture classes like Tai Gi, Chinese painting, Han Chinese clothing, Traditional sports, and porcelain plate painting, etc. and conduct deep communication with students and faculty members in NCU.
The Pusat Bahasa at Hasanuddin University sets up “Six Spots, One Class, Two Centers”, namely, six teaching spots, the first Pusat Bahasa of Indonesia, the Chinese Culture Activity Center and the Chinese Tourism Training Center. The teaching area, scale, result and the effect will receive great improvement and a leap-forward. With the assistance of NCU, Hasanuddin University set up a four-year schooling bachelor degree program of Mandarin under the approval of Ministry of Education of Indonesia in 2017 and will enroll students in 2008, which realizes the connection between Chinese Mandarin teaching and educational system in Indonesia. NCU, Hasanuddin University and the Universitas Udayana have implemented plenty of practical cooperation in exchange of students and faculty members and other fields.
