Passion, Dedication, Hard Work, and Diligence: My Reflections on Life and Scientific Research, and the Innovation Path of Organic Photovoltaics
Lecturer: Li Yongfang
Professor Li Yongfang majored in antibiotics at the East China Institute of Chemical Engineering (now East China University of Science and Technology) from 1977 to 1979, obtained the Master’s Degree in Physical Chemistry from the same university in 1982, and his Doctor’s Degree in physical chemistry from Fudan University in 1986. From 1986 to 1988, he conducted post-doctoral research at the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, after which he stayed at the Institute as a faculty member. He was promoted to a Research Professor in 1993 and was elected as an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2013. He currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of Polymer Bulletin and Associate Editor of Science China Chemistry.
Academician Li’s major research areas include photovoltaic materials and devices for organic/polymer solar cells, and perovskite solar cells. He has achieved prolific academic results, having published more than 1,000 research papers and delivered over 180 plenary and invited lectures at domestic and international academic conferences. His papers have been cited over 90,000 times in SCI journals, with an H-index of 154. He has won two Second Prizes of the State Natural Science Award (in 1995 for “Research on Conductive Polypyrrole” and 2018 for “Photovoltaic Materials of the Conjugated Polymer Donors with Conjugated Side Chains and Indene-Fullerene Bisadduct Acceptors”). He also won the First Prize (2005) and Second Prize (2018) of the Beijing Science and Technology Awards.
