Delegation from the Lomonosov Moscow State University Visited Nanchang University

(International Education College) On the afternoon of May 8th, Yuri A. Mazei, Vice-Rector in charge of international cooperation and student affairs at Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU), led a delegation to visit Nanchang University. Chen Yeguang, President of NCU and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, met with Yuri A. Mazei and his delegation. Tu Zongcai, Vice President of NCU, attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Tu Zongcai introduced the history and current status of cooperation and exchanges between NCU and Russian universities, reviewed cooperation agreement reached between the two universities in April this year, and expressed the expectation of carrying out further cooperation with MSU in areas such as student and faculty exchange, joint training, and collaborative scientific research, so as to build an exchange and cooperation pattern of high-level, broad-range, diverse forms and far-reaching influence.

Yuri A. Mazei elaborated on MSU's distinguished positionin Russia and its innovative measures to promote China-Russia cooperation in higher education directed by high-level officials from both countries. He expressed profound admiration for NCU's efforts in promoting China-Russia educational cooperation and proposed specific ideas and suggestions for cooperation between the two universities, particularly in their respective advantageous disciplines such as food science and materials science.

Prior to the meeting, Yuri A. Mazei and his delegation visited History Museum and Tea Culture Research Institute at NCU, gaining a deeper understanding of its historical evolution and cultural connotations.

Founded in 1755, Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) is globally recognized as a premier institution of higher education. It boasts a distinguished faculty of 8,600 teaching and research personnel, including 4,500 professors with doctoral or honorary doctoral degrees and 125 academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Additionally, MSU has produced 13 Nobel Prize laureates and 6 recipients of Fields Medal and is ranked 87th in QS World University Rankings 2024.

NCU Representatives from Cross-Border Education Center (International Education College), Office of International Affairs, Academic Affairs Office, Graduate School, Office of Science and Technology, College of Food Science & Technology, and School of Physics and Materials Science attended the meeting.
