Epigenetic Regulation and Lamarckian Inheritance

Professor Cao Xiaofeng is a renowned plant epigeneticist. She serves as a research fellow at the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and is the Co-Director of the CAS-John Innes Centre of Excellence for Plant and Microbial Science (CEPAMS). She is an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a Fellow of The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), and a Foreign Associate of the US National Academy of Sciences. Professor Cao is a member of the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee of the 13th and 14th National Committees of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and a specially appointed expert of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. She also serves as a member of the Committee of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and as the Vice President and Secretary-General of the Genetics Society of China. Her numerous accolades include the State Natural Science Award (Second Prize), the DuPont Young Scientist Award, the recognition as one of the “Ten Outstanding Women of CAS”(5th edition), and the CSPB(Chinese Society for Plant Biology) Outstanding Achievement Award. She is the Editor-in-Chief of SCIENCE CHINA Life Sciences and an editorial board member of journals such as Annual Review of Plant Biology, The Plant Cell, PNAS, and National Science Review.
She has published over 140 papers in leading international journals such as Cell, Science, Nature Genetics, and PNAS, with more than 21,000 citations.
