Recently, Clarivate released the list of “Highly Cited Scientists” in the world in 2020, and 6 professors from NCU, Nie Shaoping, Xie Jianhua, Xie Mingyong, Zhang Guowen, Liao Weiqiang and Zhang Xiaoyong were on the list.

The scholars selected in the Clarivate list of “Highly Cited Scientists” have published a number of highly cited papers in the past ten years, with the citation frequency ranking top 1% of the same discipline in Web of Science. Highly cited data show that the scientific research achievements of researchers in a certain discipline field are recognized collectively by the global peers. It is reported that two professors, Nie Shaoping and Xie Mingyong from NCU, have been selected as highly cited scientists in the field of agricultural science for three consecutive years. It is worth mentioning that a total of 770 people from the Chinese Mainland were selected in the list this year, and the total number of people selected from NCU ranked 29th in China. In the field of agricultural science, four of the 11 mainland candidates came from NCU, accounting for 36.4%.
