(International Affairs Department) The 12th World Conference of Confucius Institute was held in Xi’an, Shaanxi from December 12 to December 13. Liu Yandong, Vice Prime Minister of the State Council, Chairman of Council of Confucius Institute Headquarters, attended the conference and made a keynote speech. Vice President Li Baoming led a delegation to attend the conference on behalf of NCU.
The conference was hosted by Hanban and the People’s Government of Shaanxi Province and undertaken by Education Department of Shaanxi Provincial Government and Xi’an Municipal People’s Government. There were about 2500 people attending the conference, including presidents from the universities of more than 140 countries and regions, representatives of Confucius Institutes (Class), diplomatic envoys in China, representatives of other national language and culture promotion organizations, relevant national ministries and commissions, local competent departments of education, representatives of Chinese-undertaken higher institutions, and so on. The Chinese and foreign-party presidents of Confucius Institutes of UNIVERSITAS HASANUDDIN INDONESIA and Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha Spain in which our University participated in the construction attended the conference.
On December 11, Li Baoming also attended the work symposium of national Confucius Institutes.
During the conference, our University organized and held the 2017 board meeting of Confucius Institute of UNIVERSITAS HASANUDDIN INDONESIA, having summarized the works of Confucius Institute of UNIVERSITAS HASANUDDIN INDONESIA in 2017 and arranged in details the work plan for the Confucius Institute in 2018.
