The awarding ceremony for the 15th China Population Arts Award (Stage Art) was held in Beijing on December 28. The large-scale modern Jiangxi Opera The Steelyard won the second prize for opera category, which was jointly performed by Jiangxi Opera Culture and Arts Center of NCU and Shangrao County Xinhe Jiangxi Opera Performance Co., Ltd., which was the only prize winning opera work of Jiangxi. The opera was starred by teachers Liao Cong and Chen Li from Jiangxi Opera Culture and Arts Center of NCU, and Liao Cong was invited to attend the ceremony.
The opera was based on a true story that “National Moral Model” Zheng Yidong adhered to pay back father’s debts for 67 years. The modernJiangxi opera themed by the promotion of integrity and morality carries forward the “integrity”, fully embodying the core value of socialism.
