Recently, Jiangxi Provincial Education Department has announced the selection results of "innovation and entrepreneurship" activities. Nanchang University has been awarded as one of the first “Jiangxi Collegiate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Demonstration Bases”, and Professor Peng Diyun has been selected as one of the "Top 10 Innovation and Entrepreneurship Mentors in Jiangxi Province", Hu Xiaotian and Zhao Heqi have been shortlisted among the 20 candidates for the first "Top 10 Collegiate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Pacesetters” in Jiangxi province.
On the opening ceremony of the 2017, the provincial summer seminar for ideological and political work in colleges and universities, Vice Secretary Yao Zengke of CPC Jiangxi Provincial Committee, Standing Committee and Publicity Department Director Zhao Liping of CPC Jiangxi Provincial Committee, Vice Governer Li Li of Jiangxi Provincial Government, President Hong Li of Jiangxi Univeristy for the Aged (former Deputy Director of Standing Committee of Jiangxi Provincial People’s Congress ) and other leaders awarded the plate of “Jiangxi Collegiate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Demonstration Base” to Nanchang University. President Zhou Chuangbing accepted the plate on behalf of the university.
Under the big background of "mass entrepreneurship and innovation", Nanchang University has over the years always been adhering to the concept of two-integration (organic integration of entrepreneurship and innovation education with practice and organic integration of government - university - enterprise), taking school innovation and entrepreneurship as the method for coordination, credits of innovation and entrepreneurship as the engine, the innovation practice platform as the support, and the innovation practice activities as the guidance, integrating innovation and entrepreneurship education into the whole process of talents training. Now, a innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystem with multi-disciplines has been formed to integrate science into education and make production, study, research and usage into a whole. Significant achievements have been made in building a characteristic innovation and entrepreneurship education system that is open for sharing and collaborative for education with "one-fundamental", "two-innovation", "three-level", and "four-audience”.
Nanchang University has now set up 196 courses with credits of innovation and entrepreneurship and built an innovation and entrepreneurship demonstration base that works as "the innovation and entrepreneurship base, the maker’s space and the national university science and technology park". Nanchang University was ranked 25th and 35th in the 2015 and 2016 entrepreneurial competitiveness raking among Chinese universities. In 2016, Nanchang University was selected as one of the “Demonstration Universities in Deepening the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Reform in China". In 2017, Nanchang University was elected as the vice chairman unit of National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Practice Union. A good pattern has been formed to promote innovation with creativity, lead entrepreneurship with innovation, drive employment with entrepreneurship.
