Under the leadership of the former star player and current coach Kang Long, the team not only displayed outstanding technical and tactical levels but also showcased the enterprising spirit of NCU students, as well as a united and positive team atmosphere. Through democratic voting, NCU and Coach Kang Long were awarded the Sports Ethics Award for this event.

The competition was organized by the Federation of University Sports of China (FUSC), executed by the Volleyball Branch of the FUSC, and hosted by the Chongchuan District Education and Sports Bureau of Nantong City. 12 top teams, with a total of 24 squads and over 300 players from the North and South Regions, were divided into 4 groups to compete during the 9 days.

It is understood that the CUVA, approved by the FUSC and hosted by its Volleyball Branch, was first launched in the 2006-2007 academic year, with one event held annually.
