Hasanuddin University Vice-Rector Adi Maulana Leads Delegation to Visit NCU

From May 12 to 15, a delegation from Hasanuddin University, Indonesia, visited Nanchang University (NCU). The delegation was led by Prof. Adi Maulana, Vice-Rector of Hasanuddin University, and included Prof. Andi Muhammad Akhmar, Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, and Prof. Syahdar Baba, Dean of the Faculty of Animal Science. Vice President Wang Li of NCU met with the delegation.

During the visit, the two universities held a cooperation meeting on food science, engaging in in-depth discussion on the establishment of the Belt and Road Joint Laboratory and the development of joint talent training programs. Preliminary consensus on cooperation was reached at the meeting. Afterward, the Indonesian delegation visited the International Food Innovation Institute of NCU, where they gained a detailed understanding of the Institutes development history, research directions, technological strengths, and industry-university-research cooperation models. The Indonesian delegation spoke highly of the achievements and strengths of NCUs food science and technology program and expressed their expectation for the promotion of substantive cooperation between the two universities in related fields.

The delegation also visited the School of Humanities of NCU to gain an in-depth understanding of its history and current development. During the visit, they held a detailed discussion on the existing collaboration between the two universities, including the “2+2” Joint Undergraduate Training Program in Chinese Language and Literature, the Silk Road Chinese Government Scholarship Program, and the University-Enterprise Partnership Program for Cultivating High-Caliber “Chinese Plus” Talents.

While on campus, the delegation met with Hasanuddin University’s students currently participating in a joint training program at NCU. The student representatives shared their study and life experiences at NCU in both Chinese and Indonesian, expressing gratitude to both universities for their cultivation. Vice-Rector Adi Maulana encouraged the students to study Chinese diligently, excel in their majors, and serve as ambassadors of cultural exchange between China and Indonesia.

Hasanuddin University is a prominent national comprehensive university in Indonesia, ranking among the nation’s top institutions and wielding significant educational influence and academic reach in Indonesia. NCU and Hasanuddin University established the Confucius Institute at Hasanuddin University as a cooperative venture in 2011. With standardized operations and consistent management practices, the Institute has maintained a strong portfolio of regular cultural activities, achieving notable results in cultural outreach. It has been named an Excellent Communication Confucius Institute for three consecutive years and has received multiple commendations from the International Chinese Language Education Foundation and the Center for Language Education and Cooperation. Based on the cooperation of the Confucius Institute, the two universities have continuously deepened their practical collaboration in talent training, academic research, and other fields. Notably, the “2+2” Joint Undergraduate Training Program offered by the two universities boasts high educational quality, stable enrollment numbers, a solid reputation, and is highly recognized by the Indonesian Ministry of Higher Education.
