Nanchang University Launches Two New Sino-French Undergraduate Programs with Top French Engineering School

(Department of International Cooperation and Exchange) Nanchang University has recently obtained official approval from the Ministry of Education of China for two new undergraduate programs in “Computer Science and Technology” and “Software Engineering” in collaboration with the École d’Ingénieurs Léonard de Vinci in France. The programs have been officially published on the Chinese-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools regulatory platform, granting them formal enrollment and operation qualifications. The approval marks another major breakthrough in Nanchang University’s ongoing efforts to advance international education.

Both programs are part of China’s national enrollment plan for regular higher education institutions and adopt a “4+0” dual-degree model, with all four years of undergraduate study completed at Nanchang Universityoffering students “a study-abroad experience without leaving the country.” Eligible students can register for dual enrollment at both institutions and have access to the high-quality educational resources of both universities. Students who meet the graduation requirements of both universities will receive a graduation certificate and a bachelor’s degree certificate from Nanchang University, as well as a corresponding bachelor’s degree certificate from École d’Ingénieurs Léonard de Vinci. The French degree is officially recognized by both Chinese and French authorities.

The programs will actively introduce the French partner’s high-quality curriculum, faculty resources, and engineering education models. Fully guided by the internationally recognized European Accredited Engineer (EUR-ACE) standards, the programs will be developed and managed accordingly. Through the joint establishment of high-level specialized laboratories and international training platforms, they aim to create an immersive international teaching and research environment, and to build a platform with distinctive disciplinary strengths and advanced training systems for cultivating globally-minded talent. The programs are designed to serve major national strategies and local economic development, staying closely aligned with cutting-edge technologies and industry needs. Focusing on key areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, software engineering, and intelligent systems, they will systematically cultivate versatile, application-oriented engineering talents equipped with a broad international outlook, solid practical skills, outstanding innovation abilities, and effective cross-cultural collaboration capabilities.

The École d’Ingénieurs Léonard de Vinci is a comprehensive engineering school with a core focus on digital technology. It is accredited by the French Commission des Titres d’Ingénieur (CTI) and is a member of leading French higher education alliances including the Conférence des Grandes Écoles (CGE) and the Union des Grandes Écoles d’Ingénieurs (UGEI). The institution has earned prominent rankings across authoritative evaluations: it ranked 2nd nationwide in Le Figaro’s 2025 engineering school ranking and 3rd in L’Étudiant’s.
