On June 29th, the opening ceremony of the 2024 "Chinese Bridge" Spanish Youth Chinese Language and Culture Summer Camp was held at the International Education College of Nanchang University. Du Jianqiang, Vice President of NCU, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.
Mr. Du Jianqiang, representing NCU, extends a warm welcome to the Spanish teachers and students participating in this summer camp. He highlights the "Chinese Bridge" program as a gateway for Chinese language learners worldwide to deepen their understanding of China and its culture. He hopes that through this program, Spanish Chinese learners can delve into the intricacies and essence of the language, personally experience the unique charm of Chinese culture, gain a comprehensive understanding of Chinese society's realities, and inspire camp participants to cherish this opportunity to visit China. Mr. Du Jianqiang also encourages them to foster exchanges with NCU students, aiming to actively contribute to promoting cultural exchange between China and Spain while strengthening bilateral friendship.
Verónica del Carmen, the secretary of the Confucius Institute at Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha and leader of the Spanish delegation to China, extends gratitude on behalf of all participants for the meticulous organization and warm reception provided by NCU. She expressed that this summer camp presents a rare opportunity for Spanish learners of Chinese, and the participants are eagerly anticipating it. She hopes that during their time here, they will further improve their Chinese proficiency and fully experience the charm of Chinese culture.
During the ceremony, Ms. Moira, a senior student at the Confucius Institute of Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha, expressed her excitement and gratitude to NCU as a representative of the students participating in this summer camp in Chinese.

The summer camp, spanning 12 days, features a diverse program encompassing Chinese language classes, cultural immersion activities, interactive exchanges, and guided tours. Its objective is to deepen Spanish teenagers' comprehension of the Chinese language, culture, and societal dynamics, fostering an appreciation for the distinctive allure of Chinese civilization while promoting enhanced cultural exchange between China and Spain.
The head of the International Education College, along with 27 teachers and students from the Confucius Institute of Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha, and volunteer students from NCU, participated in this opening ceremony.
