A total of 16 doctoral candidates from Nanchang University (NCU)have been successfully selected for the 2025 CAST Special Program for Doctoral Candidates under the Young Talents Training Project. This follows the requirements of the Notice on Launching the Program, recommendations by provincial associations for science and technology and their grassroots units, and final review and approval by CAST.
The Special Doctoral Program under the Young Talent Support Project is a capacity-building initiative for young scientists and researchers. Launched by the Chinese Association for Science and Technology (CAST) by integrating government and societal resources, it aims to help selected participants gain in-depth insights into China’s realities, broaden their professional horizons, and better understand societal needs.
Nanchang University has always placed great emphasis on cultivating young scientific and technological talents. Committed to serving national strategies and driving technological innovation, the university has established an integrated training mechanism spanning bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs, creating a distinctive and highly effective ecosystem for nurturing young talents. The doctoral candidates selected for this program come from the School of Economics and Management, the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, the School of Information Engineering, the College of Food Science, the School of Life Sciences, the School of Resources and Environment, the School of Pharmacy, the School of Optometry, and the First Clinical Medical College, covering the disciplines of science, engineering, and medicine.
